Ojukwu was/is Not a Warlord by Chuka Ndunaeseokwu

Ojukwu was/is Not a Warlord!!!

When I stared on the statue of Our father Odumegwu Ojukwu on this hot afternoon, I wished that he was not Adoned with military attire.

I wished he was not portrayed as a warlord, for he was not. He was a young man who was bestowed with the biggest of task in the world at the time - and he rose to the occasion. He defended his people to the best of ability.

I wish that this his image was dressed with a royal Igbo attire, with an offor in his right hand pointing to the heavens.

We lost a great leader in Ojukwu. And now that we are in dark times as Ndị Igbo, it is important that we learn from the lessons he offered during his final days on earth.

But It is most paramount that a leader of his caliber rises from within us - not for the purpose of war, but for direction and guidance.
