A gang of assassins attacked the house of a Pastor in Ogbia Main town of Ogbia local government area, Bayelsa State on Friday 22nd December. An exclusive with the victims revealed that the incident happened around 11pm and lasted for almost 4 hours. The family was taken out of their house at Victory street, to the main entrance road of Ogbia main town and held hostage for several hours. Luckily one of the members of the household managed to place a distress call to another family member who wasn't at home during the time of the attack but was however caught and given the beaten of her life. The assassins who had guns and knife on them revealed that they were paid by another pastor to kill the pastor which they had held hostage. Two Nigerian college students Mustafa Azmir and Jude Nnamdi Achonye were on Wednesday December 20, handed the death sentence by a High Court in Shah Alam for trafficking 3.5 kilogrammes of methamphetamine. Shah Alam High Court judge Datuk Abdul Halim Aman made the ruling after finding that the prosecution had proven a prima facie case against the accused, Azmir, 28, and Achonye, 30. According to the criminal charge brought against them, Azmir and Achonye were accused of trafficking the drugs at an apartment in Petaling Jaya at 3.30pm on Sept 2, 2014 which is an offense under Section 39B (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. The facts of the case stated that the accused, who studied at a private college in Kuala Lumpur, were arrested by police when they accepted several boxes containing the drug which was delivered by a courier company at the apartment. Arrest Of Deadly Kidnappers Operating Within Jere/Katari Axis Of the Abuja-Kaduna express Way and Jere-Kagarko Road in Kaduna State and Recovery Of 2 AK47 Rifles. On 17/12/2017 at about 2130hrs IRT Operatives attached to Operation Absolute Sanity Along Abuja-Kaduna Express way arrested 2 deadly kidnappers in their wanted list and recovered 2 AK47 rifles with S/no 5390 and 25401 respectively and 135 rounds Of live ammunition. The kidnappers arrested with bullet wounds after gun battle with IRT Operatives are 1. Adamu Lawan 30yrs and 2. Aminu Lawan 25yrs. They confessed to several kidnappings along Abuja-Kaduna express way and Jere-Kagarko Road all in Kaduna State. Serious efforts to arrest more gang members are in progress.

Chief Innocent Chukwuma, CEO of Innoson group of companies has opened up on his arrest by the Economic and financial crimes commission, EFCC on Tuesday morning. Chukwuma says that the EFFC is being used by Guaranty trust bank(GT bank) to intimidate him. In a statement to Vanguard from his detention room in the Enugu branch of the commission, he revealed that the Bank owed him an undisclosed sum of money which a court had ruled in his favour. He said, “But instead of the Bank to pay me my money, they are using EFCC to intimidate me,”. he promised to give full details to the public on his encounter with the anti-graft agency. However, a representative of the EFCC,  Mr. Chris Oluka, told newsmen that Chukwuma put up resistance to arrest. “He did put up some resistance by using some trucks to block our way to his residence but we finally arrested him,”. PoliticsNGR learnt that Chukwuma will soon be transferred to the Lagos office of the commission.

A man identified as Doctor Kayode was killed this afternoon following a fatal accident along First Bank road in Okigwe area of Imo state. The deceased was reportedly knocked down by a reckless driver along the road as he was rushed to the hospital where he gave up the ghost. May his soul rest in peace.

South African court orders Zuma to set up influence-peddling inquiry SOUTH AFRICA South Africa’s High Court has ruled that President Jacob Zuma, under fire for alleged corruption, must set up a judicial inquiry into state influence-peddling within 30 days. In the latest in a series of judicial blows to Zuma’s scandal-tinged administration, the court upheld recommendations by South Africa’s anti-graft watchdog calling for an inquiry. Biafra: Igbo youths reveal what will happen if FG continues to deploy military in South East Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL, on Tuesday warned that there would be bloodshed if the Nigerian government continues to impose military actions in the South East. 3 killed, 10 kidnapped as gunmen raid Niger communities Kidnappers at the weekend allegedly killed three people and kidnapped 10 others along the Kaduna-Sarkin Pawa road in Munya Local Government Area of Niger State.   The Senator representing Niger East, David Umaru, said people around the area disclosed the development on Sunday. According to him, the kidnappers, who were dislodged from the Abuja-Kaduna expressway had shifted base to Munya area of Niger State and were wreaking havoc on that part of the state. He said from the information he gathered, the kidnappers attacked about 15 villages situated along the Sarkin Pawa-Kaduna road. “I have received several calls from villagers in Munya LGA about the activities of kidnappers operating without challenge from security agencies,” he said.
