Four soldiers killed in Cameroon

President Paul Biya of Cameroon Four Cameroonian soldiers were killed by suspected separatists in the restive English-speaking region of the country early Wednesday, army and government sources said. The troops came under attack in the area of Mamfe, a city in the Southwest Region, according to an army source. The information was confirmed by a government source.

I won’t be surprised if majority of 26 dead migrants are Nigerians – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that information available to him shows that only three of the 26 migrants who died in the Mediterranean and were buried in Italy recently were Nigerians. He, however, said he would not be surprised if a majority of the deceased were Nigerians. The President is in the country for the 5th European Union/African Union Summit. Buhari said this during a meeting he had with members of the Nigerian community in Cote d’Ivoire on Tuesday evening in Abidjan. He promised that his administration will do all within its powers to make the country more conducive in order to discourage youths from embarking on risky trips out of the country for greener pasture. The accounts, opened in the names of companies and an individual, had a cumulative balance of N7,418,829,290.94 (N7.4bn) and $429,381.87. The court presided over by Justice Mojisola Olatoregun made the freezing order following an application for an interim injunction to that effect by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The EFCC had in an affidavit deposed to by one of its operatives, Mr. Abdulahi Tukur, told the judge that suspected proceeds of crime were retained in the accounts and urged the judge to urgently froze the accounts pending the conclusion of its investigations. It was a Black Friday as more than twenty person died in an incident between  tanker with gas and 18 seaters bus going to orlu, they were burnt  beyond recognition  as only a woman survived. It happened at Njaba bridge when a trailer conveying Diesel lost control, had a head on collision with 18 seater bus and the occupants got burnt. According to the PCRRU, the arrest of the ASP followed a complaint by Dapo on the issue. A statement on Friday by the Head of the PCRRU, Assistant Commissioner of Police Abayomi Shogunle, said the alleged offence was committed in Lagos at Maroko Police Station.
